Grammy's Garden and Green Beans

Second only to the train was Grammy's Garden. As soon as we got to the house the kids wanted to get in the back yard and pick some of the green beans. Faye is famous in our family for her green beans. And when the world starts falling apart I will be taking up residence in her neighborhood, helping her grow her beautiful garden, in exchange for all the green beans I could want. Corn almost ready to pick
And Faye's most Favorite Ficture in her garden. . . just ask her. Who can grow a better CJ5? Proven to maximize the fertility of the soil. Just as Floyd!
And our personal favorite! Green Beans!
Visit the Guymon Gazette for Faye's own beautiful narrative of the almost magical (at least in the Riddle's opinion) process of canning them.

It was good to have little hands and big hands to help this year as we bottled the beans. Brought back memories of when the boys were still at home and everyone helped in the canning process. It also made me realize what a lot of help they were. After this year's harvest we now have 305 bottles of beans sitting on the shelf and lots of tomatoes and peaches to go with them! We are "planning with a purpose" so we can help provide for all of our family if things in this world do get more upside down!
